I think a lot of us are concentrating on McLaren, Merc and RedBull, and rightly so. But we always overlook Aston Martin. I think they will be there in the mix at the beginning. Just hope Ferrari maximize their points total every race.

It's not how start but how you finish.
The first day of Pirelli's 2026 tyre test is complete, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in a modified SF-24 joining Lando Norris in the mule MCL60.
1. Norris (1m15.21 seconds) - 159 laps
2. Hamilton (1m15.93 seconds) - 87 laps
3. Leclerc (1m16.06 seconds) - 86 laps

Was Charles driving the SF23 to make up for time lost last Wednesday (due to Lewis crash)
or did he have to use SF24 for the tyre test?
Forza Jules
They both used a modified SF24.
Charles never lost anytime, the SF23 is not a meaningful test.
Forza Ferrari
Tires go from what they are currently(2025):
305mm(front) and 405mm(rear)
to 2026 configurations:
275mm(front) and 375mm(rear)

Zhou Guanyu will be Ferrari's reserve driver along with Antonio Giovinazzi.

Lewis's "modified" SF-24 for the Pirelli tire tests at Circuit de Catalunya for the 2026 thinner tires had a Monza style rear wing and Las Vegas style front wing.
2026 cars will lose close to 30% downforce compared to current F1 cars.

So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.
Day 2 Pirelli F1 2026 tyres development test at Barcelona with McLaren and Ferrari
Leclerc: 1'14''971 (74 laps)
Hamilton: 1'16''759 (74)
Piastri : 1'15''815 (152)

So far Lewis is fitting right in with everyone @ Ferrari; let's hope he fits right in the car !! That 8th WDC will shine bright for both team and driver. Ferrari needs the boost !!
Ferrari fire up SF 25 engine sounds awesome.
Only 9 drivers in F1 history have won a race at the age of 40. The last F1 driver to do so was Nigel Mansell in Australia in 1994. It's been 30 years since.
(I have a list of the rest)
The odds and probabilities are stacked against Hamilton...and given his performance against Russell with Mercedes, it's highly stacked against him.

Atlassian has signed a multi-year deal to become the title partner of Williams Racing, in the biggest deal in the team’s history.
It is now the first title sponsor of Williams since 2020 and the partnership also extends beyond branding, with Atlassian becoming the official technology partner and official collaboration software partner of the team.

Fangio won 5 titles with 4 different teams over the age of 40. It was easier to change teams in the 50's as opposed to todays F1 where you're "locked" into a contract(depending how good or bad you are). Fangio went to the teams that were good when he was in his 40's hence his 5 titles with 4 different teams. You can't do that today.

I believe Lewis stood too long with Merc even with a get out clause available. He wanted to do right by them by scoring that 8th WDC with them. But after that Masi theft the Merc car was no longer a top winner. Winning that BIG 8th with Ferrari will be even a more famous win than if with any other team. R Bull needs a rest!!![]()
Tell me something else I don't know.....BUT at 40yo, F1 teams consider a driver at that age to be past his "sell-by" date. IF older, the F1 drivers chances in this current F1 era deminish rapidly.
I don't think you realize the criteria for an F1 driver at 40yo and older to win a title, let alone a race:
1) You need a dominant car
2) You need a very very good team
3) You need a race where the top teams have attrition during a race like Stroll podiumed in 2017 or Gasly winning a race.
Mansell won a race in Australia in 1994 because the FW16 was the successor to the FW15 which was the successor to the FW14....all designed by Adrian Newey.
