it could happen with Norris starting on the clean side.

issue is the same issue we have in qualifying with getting the tyres into the tempearture window, compromises our race starts as well.

we need to hold positions and not get tangled up in any messes

    Worried about Russell behind Charles.

    This guy is just unpredictable.

    Yep agreed.
anything can happen in that 1st corner.
And Sainz could be very vulnerable in that big straight. So 1st priority would be to have a clean start and be very cautious in 1st corner . Then we can fight with the race pace.
The only good thing is that Ves probably will have in mind to block Norris and doesnt care if he get passed by Lec. He knows that if he finished 3d and in front of Norris would be like a win for him .

I think Fred will be a pretty happy man tonight with both his drivers in the top 5. Only Merc from the top 4 teams have also managed that.
But Fred will be ever mindful of tomorrow and not counting any chickens!!!!!!!!!

Super stoked with Carlos’s quali lap, not so much with Charles

Charles keep saying Ferrari have issues in qualy, especially on the soft tyre to be able to bring them up to temperature for that hot lap…..BUT as we seem to witness, Carlos has and no such problems this weekend especially that STONKING lap he did in Q3….so what gives? Has Carlos set up his car more towards quali and Charles more towards the race so he’d have better tire wear?? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow

Carlos was the one who did maximum laps from practice to quali from Top4. He has a perfect setup probably for quali. Leclerc more towards the race. It all depends on the start tmrw.

Ferrari should aim for 1-2 finish again given their race pace

Great lap from Sainz, Charles lost a bit on S3 but was really fighting it coming out the last corner but I think we should be in a strong place with our race pace and Charles can easily pass lando into turn one, P1 strangely isn't ideal here for the start.

I doubt Carlos has set his car up just for qualifying I guess most just want to excuse why he is on pole and not Charles. He has been strong all weekend. We shall see in the race. We should be outscoring RBR and McLaren today hopefully 1-2.

All this livarly is nonsense. From both sides.
And from Lec side (fans) if someone tried to downplay Sainz performance in qualy, witch was mighty but also from Sainz side where they act like he won the championship.
It's simple. I this race ,till now, Sainz has the upper hand since FP1. That Lec didn't have much of driving with missing FP1 and test tires in FP2 is just excuses. Ves had worst run and still delivered . But this doesn't say anything about overall performance as a driver.
So ,since drivers championship is out of reach (we need more then 1 miracle even if Lec managed to win all the remaining races) all it matters now is WCC. And in this case we need team results, both cars finish on top spots and who where is irrelevant.

You know Sainz is still in with a WDC chance just like Charles? Longer odds but he is still possible to win it. We need to win every race let's do that and see what happens

yes Lec had similar amounts of running to Norris and Verstappen and still didn't outqualify them, but that's our true form in qualifying this season. Leclerc ended up only .005 behind Norris. And this was the qualifying order in Austin, ( Verstappen, Norris, Ferrari ).

I love Carlos, and i'm not about to take anything away from him, but i don't think he suddenly found a way to get this Ferrari consistently 3 tenths clear of the rest of the field in qualifying. But I hope I'm wrong.

    Yes, LOOOOOOOOONGER odds indeed.

Even IF Lando wins every race, with 6 races left, and every sprint race and every fastest lap point and MAX comes in 2nd place.....Lando still loses thes WDC title by 1 point.

Its one thing to have mathematical chance and another a real one. Even Lec has no real chance. Carlos has none ,thats the truth. Thats why i said we dont bother for WDC

Thats why a disagree with Sainz fans when i see them taking his only dominant pole (i refer to dominant ,not just pole) in his career and act like suddenly he bacome super fast and has nothing to envy on Lec. The outcome comes in the end after 4 years ,and this is that Lec has clearly outperformed him both in qualy and race on avarage. IF sainz had regularly performed like yesterday ,i would be the 1st to acknowledge his supremacy . Just like a dont like someone to try to find excuses why Lec was slower yesterday. He just was!!! Now if he will be faster in the race is another thing and for me still dont answering his lack of speed in Qualy. He just didnt have the trust to through it !!!

Ferrari must avoid any turn 1 incident. Let the race unfold and let the cars race pace do the talking .Great WCC points on offer and 2nd spot now awaits.one step at a time as ferrari reel in the oposition.

Fred has expressed surprise at a pole yesterday which they were not expecting as the cars are set up for the race.
I just worry about the start......there are a lot of idiots around us including George!!!!!!!!!

It was fantastic to see Carlos getting his first pole of the season yesterday. I hope he gets at least a podium finish today.
