It happened back then in the Montezemolo era! He had Lauda as a consultant and the advice that he told him was “if you want to succeed then you have to hire Jean Todt as Team Principal”. He did exactly that knowing that he could trust Lauda (quite an intelligent person by the way) with the condition that he would have carte blanche to make all the necessary adjustments and take the decisions to achieve the goal of bringing Ferrari back to top. And that’s what happened! Jean Todt proved that he was worthy of Luca di Montezemolo”s trust. He hired all the right people and reorganized the whole organization of the Gestione Sportiva and we saw the results. The then Ferrari was functioning like a Swiss clock, smashing all (or almost all) the records and Jean Todt himself was ruthless he would take no prisoners in order to win! He transformed Ferrari to a dream team, the “red armada”. BUT to achieve that he hired the services of genius of the likes of Ross Brawn, Rory Berny, Osamu Goto, Nigel Stepney, Aldo Costa (to name a few). Without that powerful technical department however good is the team principal it will be futile. The team principal hires the right people, but the technical director gives his input in designing the car! Apart from Aldo Costa (post Ross Brawn and Rory Berny era) which was wrongly fired as a scapegoat we didn’t have a technical director of the caliber of Ross Brawn and that cost us a lot! All the team principals we had after Stefano Domenicalli had little or no experience from motor racing, thus the inability to guide the team, they were just the FIAT CEO people (here come into play the politics of the Ferrari culture which previously Jean Todt and Ross Brawn eradicated). And to add salt to the misery we promoted that clown Matia Biscotto in the role of TD in the beginning and then TP! And although as chief of the engine department he was really good, as TD mediocre (which is not nearly enough) as a TP he was miserable!
To me Binotto ,from all the others, was the most selfish. He has sneaky moved up the leader, probably always blaming tho others for the failure and wanted to have all the power and glory for himself. The cherry on top was that he wanted to have the 2 most powerful places on the team .Both TD and TP. And eventually to me he probably made another deal for his part ,in the last 2 years (2021 - 2022) that ended up taking the team apart.

Binotto's main job was to get Mick a seat @ Ferrari.
Exactly! I can still remember the first race of the new F1 era cars when CL schooled MV! And even in Australia where he dominated. Then along came the TD39 which of course the jelly fish which we had as TD and sadly TP (yes I'm referring to that clown Biscotto) succumbed to Wolf's demands "for the sake of the good of F1"! What an idi@t!
"If he can't do it with Ferrari, well, he can't do it." - John Surtees
Ferrari: in his interview with @SkySportF1 after qualifying at Silverstone, Vasseur dodged the question of internal movements, but according to the news, the team is indeed undergoing a metamorphosis, and it's a delicate transition.
- The team is reeling under the weight of new signings that will create new hierarchies from October onwards: Jérôme D'Ambrosio's announcement as deputy team manager is generating a great deal of discontent among some long-serving members of the team, who have learned of the move via a press release. D'Ambrosio will drastically shake things up internally.
- Loic Serra, future technical director, enters the company without the move or the choice having been shared in advance with anyone on the technical team.
- The difficulties also reveal the tension of a changing team, with Vasseur intervening in all departments, pushing for an ever more aggressive approach and inserting more and more new people.
- And hovering over all this is the spirit of Adrian Newey, whose value nobody would dream of questioning, but who, if he arrives, can only play a major role in the future technical balance. Among the results of these earthquakes is the departure of Enrico Cardile. But Radio Scuderia is also talking about other possible internal adjustments that could also affect the powertrain sector, in and out.
- Beyond the current results, which aren't exactly brilliant, this isn't the Ferrari of "continuity" that Vasseur has always displayed since his first interview in red. But he's making a lot of purchases, and internally, the revolution is making itself felt.

Cardile gone.
He will be no great loss but this will put more pressure on Fred if he is to oversee vehicle development.
Forza Jules
Cardile was a ditherer best suited making model Ferraris in his garage with no pressure.cardile can not handle pressure and when he was required to perform to keep upgrades moving he panicked and hit the wall clueless he began the blind leading the blind show at ferrari he created a piniata environment swing and a miss or we might get lucky.God riddance Fred needs no nonsense thinkers who do not dither and can perform under pressure the binotto clan all were dithers clean out that closset ASAP nothing of any worth is inside.enjoy your tea and scones chochoo.

Dear friends, it’s been indicated (more so, strengthened) that Newey isn’t headed to Ferrari.
Article: https://scuderiafans.com/italian-med...-aston-martin/
I have never been more pessimistic about our SF’s future, than now:
- First: this era & the next is going to be war more dependent aero and less on the PU, which historically we haven’t been the strongest in. This era should’ve been ours, if not for Binnoto’s sheer incompetence and greed.
- Second: the talent of a driver (be it Leclerc or Hamilton) only goes so far, rather it’s more dependent on the machine. Case in point, look at Leclerc, Hamilton, Verstappen & Norris.
- Third: I feel the Ferrari hierarchy/management are still placing their grubby paws in the F1 department, which is NEVER a good sign.
Honestly, like the rest of you – I’ve been waiting patiently for Ferrari’s upward trend. It’s getting a bit too much now, year after year.
Regarding Newey, personally I feel he’s headed to AMR – not only to work on their F1 team, but also their endurance entry.
According to Motorsport Italy, Adrian Newey has turned down Ferrari, and will select between Aston Martin and McLaren instead.
Newey and Vasseur had detailed conversations, but Newey spoke to other teams as well, and now the Newey-Ferrari rumours have faded completely.
It is rumoured that Ferrari executives do not intend to be in an upward auction for Newey’s salary. Ferrari’s current priority is to find a replacement in the TD role for Enrico Cardile, instead of a technical consultant like Newey (who would not be involved day-to-day in the project).
My opinion:
Another cycle of regs where ferrari will be thereabouts but might not be strong contenders.
On the other side McLaren/Mercs/Aston are in a strong position.
I'm sure Charles is well informed. as to how he will help the team get there 8th WDC drive with Sr Lewis. I'm a big fan of Carlos but I believe he would never move over for Lewis if he was in a position to finish ahead for a podium finish and lose that position to Lewis. Meanwhile will Ferrari have "THE CAR !"
Any indications who will lead the technical department at Ferrari?
So who will become Mr.X ?
No it's not coming yet
Yes who is or who could possibly b mx x and Mr newey was going to be a hit or miss probably a blessing in disguise.it was going to be a consultant position but please throw out names who could be Mr x thanks
Don't know what will happen, but on the engineers makret we looms to loose again.Dont know if the purchases we make are targeted ones or leftovers.
Outside Serra we haven't pick any " big" name. Of course something will say that 1 person can't make the difference, but as you said I see AM and McL to start forming strong technical team and from last we have seen that this actually start to deliver for them. AM are still have problems but they are also in a construction state both in facilities and personnel. So I'm afaid that too will start performing sooner or later.
We o the other hand ,for various reasons look to struggle to put together a strong technical group with steady base line .
Personally I would like very much if ee could have Newey for 2 reasons. And for his own capabilities and knowledge that considered to be the best in the field and because the team would be attracting again for top technicians.
It does say it's a big name when mention
.who are we forgetting that's out there.i has to be connected to Lewis coming here
I first thought that Loic Serra would take up the position of TP but apparently not. Disappointed to hear that Newey will not join us. I wondered why Alonso was not interested in either a Merc or RB seat. Stroll senior is throwing money at RB and probably wants Newey to help with their super car.
Forza Jules
