    i mentioned that in one of my previous posts as well....we'll if they can actually remedy this without going pull rod and if so HOW competitive are we gonna be against the likes of red bull and mclaren.

    When im thinking it i truly cant find the correct answer because both are right.
    When a team doesn't deliver is it bacause they need more time, something must have missed them witch is all right just give them more time to find it later? Or is it that they actually are not top notch so we have to let them go and bring better ones??
    When we are facing the problems,all of us and especially the media/journalist experts are more or less shouting that it's the 2nd. But when an engineer leave and goes to another teams and thrives,then again they complain to the bosses that they didn't give them more time or the right environment for them to work.
    So to me it's not a simple answer. None is as none is for the technical advices we hear in here and especially on the net by the "experts". The solutions unfortunately is more complicated and a bit more about luck. To come to a state and time where the people you have ,1st have the knowledge to think a clever solution to a matter 2nly to work well each other with none try to present himself better the the other so to take the credits and the bosses to provide the necessary space-freedom-resources to them. When a team after comes and goings, achieve this kind of environment,then they start deliver.
    In McL Stella was there for almost 10 yesrs and couldn't do anything until last year . Someone could "we had him for 10 years what has he done"? And then the promoted him to TP ,some engineers came and all of a sudden, after 8years of them fighting for the last places , everything starts working again and they transferred to a winning team again.
    We had engineers like Also Costs that fired him in 2011 saying that he can't design any proper car (we had prof because the actual cars that he had designed foe us didn't perform) and then he went to Merc and won 5-6-7 championships being a of the most valuable people of that winning team.
    So what now ? We let Cardile go because his cars reach a level and stop ther, have limitations. ?
    And the next? How much time do we give them? Thats answers that only the TP can answer and for the TP ( if HE is worthy or not) Elkann.
    It happened back then in the Montezemolo era! He had Lauda as a consultant and the advice that he told him was “if you want to succeed then you have to hire Jean Todt as Team Principal”. He did exactly that knowing that he could trust Lauda (quite an intelligent person by the way) with the condition that he would have carte blanche to make all the necessary adjustments and take the decisions to achieve the goal of bringing Ferrari back to top. And that’s what happened! Jean Todt proved that he was worthy of Luca di Montezemolo”s trust. He hired all the right people and reorganized the whole organization of the Gestione Sportiva and we saw the results. The then Ferrari was functioning like a Swiss clock, smashing all (or almost all) the records and Jean Todt himself was ruthless he would take no prisoners in order to win! He transformed Ferrari to a dream team, the “red armada”. BUT to achieve that he hired the services of genius of the likes of Ross Brawn, Rory Berny, Osamu Goto, Nigel Stepney, Aldo Costa (to name a few). Without that powerful technical department however good is the team principal it will be futile.The team principal hires the right people, but the technical director gives his input in designing the car! Apart from Aldo Costa (post Ross Brawn and Rory Berny era) which was wrongly fired as a scapegoat we didn’t have a technical director of the caliber of Ross Brawn and that cost us a lot! All the team principals we had after Stefano Domenicalli had little or no experience from motor racing, thus the inability to guide the team, they were just the FIAT CEO people (here come into play the politics of the Ferrari culture which previously Jean Todt and Ross Brawn eradicated). And to add salt to the misery we promoted that clown Matia Biscotto in the role of TD in the beginning and then TP! And although as chief of the engine department he was really good, as TD mediocre (which is not nearly enough) as a TP he was miserable!

    Exactly! He himself downplayed the importance of the suspension layout configuration unlike James Key, but i told myself “hey he might as well know what he’s doing, let’s wait and see!”.

    To me Binotto ,from all the others, was the most selfish. He has sneaky moved up the leader, probably always blaming tho others for the failure and wanted to have all the power and glory for himself. The cherry on top was that he wanted to have the 2 most powerful places on the team .Both TD and TP. And eventually to me he probably made another deal for his part ,in the last 2 years (2021 - 2022) that ended up taking the team apart.

    Binotto's main job was to get Mick a seat @ Ferrari.

    +1! He was climbing the ladder with his moto "essere ferrari"! OK maybe he was passioned with Ferrari, but that doesn't make him the right person to sit in to the chair of the TD let alone of that of the TP!
