Leclerc is on the dirtier inside, but that track really is swept clean so in practice it doesn't matter much. Verstappen lost the start after a red flag on pole and badly. The main thing tomorrow is to keep it steady at the start and don't allow Verstappen past any of our cars.

Oh yes, let me try that again.

    Lewis qualifies 16th - "I'm sorry guys."
    Max qualifies 4th - "#&*%! &#*%*&##&!!!!“

Far rather have Perez in front of us than Max. Fair chance he will balls-up the start and away we go!

Max is clearly struggling - relative to the three ahead of him - and being three places back with his team mate on pole may get to his head. Let's hope so.

Being that Lewis is P16, might as well breach parc ferme rules and do the setup on Lewis's car. What's the difference between P16 and P20??

Not sure wts happening with Sainz, when mattered he’s not putting that pole lap.

All through the weekend Perez was strong in S2 & S3. He nailed it.
He was only 0.032 seconds slower than his PB in the sector 3.

But today Perez has done a special lap, without doubt the most special lap in his career. So I'm too fussed about P2 and P3.

I think this was one lap wonder by checo.. We have a better race pace and long run our car will be good.. Max does not seems happy with the setup/tyres.... Fingers crossed hope we have a good one... We have waited for this performance for years now..... Sir 7wc loosing out in Q1 was icing and made my day...

Yeah , He will probably start from pit lane. Idk if it is going to help the case.

He will start from the pits, Mick won't be racing either I imagine.

Exactly what I'm saying. Even with his best S3 he would have not beaten Perez. Just look at those top speeds. Red Bull is miles ahead. We are clearly setup for higher DF which will benefit us in the race hopefully. But Leclerc didn't mess anything up and I would be the first to say he did, if he... did.

Yep, Gunther said during Sky interview, that after watching the crash, he doesn't think it's worth the risk trying to quickly repair the car.

I'm not too disappointed with this result. I would have loved a 1-2 of course but I still can't get over this wonderful feeling of being right at the top again and being easily capable of pole position. This is so good! Well done to Perez, I'm happy for him. And I'm glad it's him and not Max.

    .

Certainly not in a Haas. That car's going nowhere apart from the breaker's yard!

That top speed from RB shows they are using that long 8th gear + low DF set up.

Maybe low DF setup is the only way RB can keep up with Ferrari.

And he lost the pole position by only 0.025. We have such high expectations from LEC that anything other than a pole is considered a bar day in office. Great days are back

I was under assumption ferrari was going with Low DF. But I see they are carrying more wing compared to RB.

Redbull have been using this kind of setups since last 4-5 races of 2021 and it always costs them at the Race pace.

    Here's another crazy thing:

The F1-75 is only 0.171 seconds slower than the SF21 here in Qualifying. Incredible improvement.

I’m not counting out Perez tomorrow just because he’s actually good at managing tyres & better in race. Given RB’s top speed not sure how Ferrari’s gonna pass him down the straight. Either it should be through pit strategy, but for this Sainz should be very close to Lec & Perez.

overtaking willl be hard. Ferrari has the smoother car. but RB has top speed advantage.
Hope the pressure will get to them and cause a mistake.

Ferrari are definitely going to be in the pit delta window....that's for sure. So either Ferrari covers Perez pit stop or RB covers Ferrari pit stop.

We should be faster in S1 & rest is to RB. We saw how max was passing Lec in Bahrain with that top speed & DRS assistance. That’s the only worry for me.

Max under investigation for pit lane incident. Not sure what it is.
