    Russian GP 2021 - Race

Bottas has taken an engine penalty so will start 17th and ahead of Max....not on purpose I bet

Looking forward to it. Can't believe they've sabotaged Bottas race in order to block Max.

Well that should definitely help Carlos' podium chances

The start will be the key here, hopefully Ricciardo can get Hammy off the line to make it a very interesting race in that regard. If Carlos gets Norris' tow before Russell can get there he has a good chance to at the very least hold position. Considering Lando knows the Williams is fast in a straight line, I assume he would default at turning in front of Carlos and forcing the clean air for Russell anyway. Hopefully that means Carlos can get alongside on the outside and at the very least keep position. What his race pace is versus Norris is hard to tell though, I think it might be quite a bit better than what people are expecting considering all the 90-degree turns. So long as he's not stuck behind the Williams that is.

I expect Hammy to start on hards to try and go long.

I think tyre choice could be interesting for sure. The temptation is to go onto the harder compounds but the softs would provide an opportunity for Sainz to get a good start, get temperature into the tyres and then have the opportunity to run in clean air and maybe manage them longer. They've spoke at length about how we really struggle with the tyres in dirty air.

I don't think Hamilton can get anymore help to give him his 8th title. The team giving him a great car, the team screwing his teammate for his benefits on several occasion, the FIA/Stewards, and of course the racing gods.

Weather forecast says very low (20%) chance of rain for the race. Max temp 17C.

It's a good strategic move for Lewis.

Bottas only had a new engine 2 races ago. Personally I feel like Mercedes are starting to play dirty.
I hope it backfires on them and goldenboy dnf's.

You actually think Mercedes is playing dirty or being smart.

Yeah, I hope Lewis DNF's this race and his PU goes "BANG!!!"

"Valteri, its Toto - DO NOT OVERTAKE any more cars, just stay where you are and ruin Verstappens race"

Merc just wants Bottas to hold up Max, even if that means neither scores any points. All for Lewis of course! They wont admit that, but its clear.

So Msx, Leclerc, Bottas, Latifi, and Giovinazzi all have taken grid drops.

It's funny because if Ferrari did that media would explode

Once a butler always a butler.Bottas would make a great Alfred,in the next batman series.Would not surprise me at all if botas takes max out if max tries to overtake. All max has to do is clear the butler quickly without risk.Who knows a mid field runner might give Lewis an almighty whack also.

Expect Russell to be "sacrificed" as wll since he has a Merc seat next year.

Russell will let Lewis on by on the first lap probably.

The sport had team orders banned back when we use to swap between 1-2
Here they are sacrificing their #2 car before the race even start, but its Sir Lewis so its fine.

Hope Russel is prepared for this

Bottas has been pretty quick all weekend so he might have to slow down to block Max if that is the plan, but I doubt he has the ability to hold him for long even if he wanted too.
