Its even more radical than I've though? Could the side pods have ducts in them, going around the tubs, venting energized air at the beam wing?

In the eye of this beholder......love it. My favourite modern F1 cars by Ferrari were 641,642 and 643 of 1990 and 1991. Loved early 90's F1 cars especially Jordan 191 but this by Ferrari is right in amongst those stunners, love it so much. Hopefully it wins but even if not it's a poster car for years to come.

I like it but it is looking "massive" and the team said that car is "radical"....Like in 2012, it was supposed to be radical and clever, we all remember how it gone.

I hope it will be different this year.

I still prefert this kind of approach, big gambling, big reward.

It's more like 2017 when Ferrari turned up with the mid-wing sidepod concept and the rest of the field followed suit. And we all know how good the SF70-H was both aerodynamically and mechanically.

And the Ferrari of 2022 is nothing like the Ferrari of 2012. There was nothing radical about the F2012, apart from being ugly.

It's a very interesting design. Definitely different than any other cars. I think the fact that Hass showed a car with the down slope sidepods means that Ferrari probably already tested this solution and found theirs works better. Here's hoping they found the better path.

    It gets better:

"Ferrari has implemented a radical nose idea on its 2022 Formula 1 car that could give it the edge in being able to rapidly develop its challenger this season."

It's bloody gorgeous. From every single angle. I was wondering if it's a good idea to buy a tickets for a race this year, when we don't know how the covid will develop, but just this car alone... I just have to see it live.

BUT! I am one of minority, who doesn't see the radical stuff on the car being too radical. I actually still think Aston went way further. But as I'm not an engineer nor a car designer, I'll just hope Ferrari knew what they were doing.

hopefully it will be as fast on track as it is beautiful and innovative
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

This car is more then ever Love at first sight .... beautiful ... so beautiful ... it should be named: F1-75SL (Sophia Loren)
"If I was driving for Red Bull [from 2008] probably I would have more championships, but because they were dominating between 2010 and 2014 probably I would never have driven for Ferrari. I am very happy and very proud to drive for Ferrari, all my time there.

    [Scarbs]

Sidepod dimple appears to be about forming a curved edge to direct airflow toward the rear beam wing.

That's a hell of a pointy noise! Good for cutting down competitors' tires

Since I am not an expert in Aerodynamics like SS454 is [j/k ;) ] I will reserve judgement until the real ones chime in.

I hope she makes Charles and Carlos winners this season!

From what I read, Ferrari doesn't use centre line cooling, which implies it's all happening in and around the sidepods. I guess from that perspective, it will always appear wider than others.
