I don't know, if it was already mentioned, but there is a speculation, that if Vietnam GP would get posponed/canceled Bahrain would host 2 GPs in a row.

SARS was also a coronavirus, I'm not sure what China is doing, but either this is engineered, or environmental factors are causing coronaviruses to become more and more potent in that region... neither of those scenarios are reassuring but there might be other factors at play obviously....
Rest in Peace Leza, you were a true warrior...
The hospital system in many countries are risking a complete collapse, if the virus cant be contained or limited. The emergency unit will be flooded and patients that does not have virus will be severely affected as well. In sweden in stockholm they have even stopped testing people for the corona virus unless they are in the hospital, there is not enough testing kits for everyone and there is not enough security clothing available for the medical personnel. Its vital to stop or limit the spread, to prevent an utter medical disaster. In contrary to what people might believe, the hospitals does not have unlimited respiratory equipment etc. And now I am not even mentioning countries that lacks proper hospital care. If the virus starts spreading at a hospital among already sick people, it could be a massacre.

I Live in South Africa... We have load shedding (Power cuts) Daily, Our Healthcare is a joke, and our country has one of the highest TB and HIV rates in the world. Basic services are none existing. we currently have 17 people infected. Our president has not closed our borders to travelers, in fact he flew a plane to Wuhan to fetch 200 passengers from China. If you think that this has hit 1st world countries badly be prepared for what is going to happen in our poor third world countries..Millions of people are going to die!
It is officially a pandemic now. Not surprising, considering the recent spike in cases outside of China, especially Italy.
As much as am eager to watch this season start, I can't expect the people involve to carry on as usual while companies around the world (including mine) are implementing many measures to protect its employees.
These people deserve to be protected too.
Hope everyone stay safe
US is tight lipped on corona virus epidemic. Either they are lying about the no.of casualties or something behind the scene is happening.
Twice in a week they did shut down trading market for couple of mins. It’s a huge collapse.
Lewis in an interview, can't understand the " logic ? " behind the F-1 go ahead for the 1st race. The decision to go ahead was ridicules ! He said, "Cash is King !" He of all people one would think would have been in favor. Also why did Ferrari choose to travel to Australia ? Binotto already stated clearly they have no chance of winning. This year will be a wipe out. Millions more now lost than if Ferrari would have stayed in Italy.

3 teams still wanted to race in Melbourne, McLaren does have more employees who can fly to Bahrain, even if McLaren withdraws and the event is not part of F1 World Championship, the race weekend will still go on. For that to happen, 5 teams out of 9, i.e majority will have to agree. 3 were ready in Melbourne, can't see why 2 more won't be ready in Bahrain.
In that case the points, win, podiums don't count at the end. I doubt the drivers and fans will have their hearts into it . Also I wonder if they will get paid for a race that isn't part of the world championship ?
White House officials have accused Russia of creating thousands of fake Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts to spread conspiracy theories that the US was somehow the originator of the virus.

Ferrari, merc and renault not going to bahrain its being said:
"The chances of a Bahrain Grand Prix next week look remote.
Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes will not attend – and will not supply engines. Which would leave only the four Honda-powered cars.
The entry restrictions in Vietnam make that look impossible. The current public gathering restrictions in Europe make Holland and Spain look unfeasible. Monaco doesn’t pay for its race – and so could be cancelled without financial penalty to Liberty."
"Baku in early june would be next, as things stand. In the meantime, the summer break will effectively be brought forwards to now – and an attempt will be made to reschedule the missed races, using up the original summer break. Virus-permitting of course."

According to F1-Insider.com: Mercedes is no longer participating in the rebellion of the non-Ferrari teams against the FIA and their secret agreement with Ferrari regarding the engine.
Supposedly John Elkann and Daimler Ola Källenius had a conversation.

This COVID-19 pandemic is force majeure so anything anyone has put pen on paper to is now null and void. Have that in mind. That's why Seb and Kimi bolted before anybody else did, because they knew they could not be held liable for being MIA. That's also why Lewis said what he said because he knew he didn't bring the sport into disrepute by questioning the decision of F1 being in Melbourne.
Breaking - Bahrain and Vietnam have been postponed.

The Monaco Grand Prix is set to become the latest casualty on the 2020 Formula 1 calendar, as coronavirus restrictions are put in place in the principality.
Still officially set to be the first race of the season after the cancellation of the five preceding races, it is now widely expected that F1’s showpiece event will not go ahead as scheduled on May 24 after the Monegasque government took the decision to close all “non-essential” public places from Saturday at midnight.
Restaurants, casinos, cafes, theatres, cinemas and nightclubs have all been closed after the city-state reported its third case of COVID-19 on Friday.
Instead, the sport’s organisers are believed to be targeting the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on June 7 in Baku as the 2020 opener, although unlike the other races that have fallen victim to the COVID-19 outbreak, they are reported to be especially interested in rescheduling Monaco given its ‘jewel in the crown’ status on the calendar.
Should the race in the principality not go ahead, it would be the first time since 1954 there has been no Monaco Grand Prix, bringing to an end its streak of 65 consecutive years as part of the F1 world championship.

Dutch and Spanish come before Monaco? doubt they will be on anyway. Probably be no F1 this year the way this is spreading.

like i said, one good thing about it, if there is NO F1 this year....is that Lewis won't get his 7th WDC.....because lets face it, our chances would be pretty slim against that Monster Merc....
that way, the team can work flat out and hard and come up with a Merc beater for 2021....
but having a whole year without F1 it would be really painful for me as well as all fans i'm sure
Will probably see a few teams go bust as well if no F1 this season.
