You do make me laugh, aroutis, there's nothing wrong with being a fan of a particular driver, in the past I was always a massive Felipe fan and forgave him most things, particularly his pirouetting in wet conditions. Vettel165 is still here here because he's a Seb fan and presumably a Ferrari fan, and despite some of the mistakes Seb has made in recent seasons, he's currently still a Ferrari driver, and I will continue to support him on that basis. Charles has become the prodigal son for most of us and I dread the day when he starts to receive the same criticism as any other Ferrari drivers face sooner or later. Let's support our team while we still can.
I really do like your attitude regarding BOTH of our drivers
For me I never wanted to have Schumi coming to Ferrari. I was very happy with Alesi and Berger even though we were fighting for incidental successes during those days.
Now I feel proud Ferrari 'gave' us Schumi, Fernando, Kimi and Seb. Forever in my heart !
Forza Ferrari
All his wins for Ferrari. Hope at least one more this year.

I remember being here on our forum as the only Rubens fan. He was mocked and cursed every time I mentioned him. Ferrari will always have 2 drivers, take your pick and be happy. Each driver made it to the team! How much do I get paid should not be the main driver's concern. Max would probably drive for room and board just to be in the races.
Hope his last races with Ferrari he will not drive for himself(it's sure for me) and he don't creates problems to Leclerc.I dont blame him for wdc(i believe the car it wasn't good enough) and i hope last year(2020) win wdc, it will probably last change for him for wdc.

The 2020 aero development and engine parts will carry over to next years car as well. So Vettel will no be getting any aero-engine upgrades this year.
All the aero upgrades and new engine specs will go to Leclerc's car.
Of course there's always the chance that Seb won't play ball with the team this season and will fight for himself, frankly you can't blame him. But to say that he won't get the latest aero or engine upgrades is a recipe for disaster, how can he be expected to drive for a team where only one driver gets the latest equipment, it just doesn't make sense, any chance of a WCC/WDC would be even less likely. Is this supposition or do you know something we don't, tifosi1993?
Knowing Seb he will be selfish and go for his personal glory like he always did...
Hero's come and go, but legends never die!
It's quite understandable. For example, Kimi in 2018 didn't get the spec-3 engine upgrades that was introduced in Monza, and aero upgrades that was introduced in Singapore (although it was a downgrade, so I don't think Kimi was too unhappy about it)
Another example, when Ricciardo announced that he was leaving Red Bull for Renault, Red Bull freezed him out of new aero and engine parts. Which partly explains the performance advantage Verstappen had over Ricciardo during the 2nd half of 2018 season.
Vettel is leaving after this year. He may go to another team or he may retire, but you can't expect Ferrari to take chances. As I said before, this years aero developments and engine parts will carry on to next years car. And you don't want Vettel to be privy to Ferrari's development parts. You can call it gardening leave. But unlike the departing engineer, the driver pretty much gets freezed out of development parts. Again, it's quite understandable.

I hope so ^^.

Just waiting for Seb to beat Charles fair and he (Vettel) easy had better pace after Singapore last year in qualy and in the race. After new parts were fited to the car with more rear stability.
Last 2 posters are just Vettel haters, Seb still drives for Ferrari this year. But you just cant stop it right. For you just Charles drives for Ferrari this year, again playing a dirty game on this forum.
Your beloved hero Charles will also crumble under pressure of having a no good team under, management is really bad, strategy is bad, engine is good. With this pace Ferrari wouldnt win the title at least for 4-5 years now. I think Red Bull with Max has more chances in next years, the Italians in Ferrari are known for drama, Ferrari needs a German, British leader. The hard reality to say as a Ferrari fan.

I see your point, tifosi1993, and it's an awkward situation as a result of the early announcement regarding Seb's departure. If those aero/engine parts are carried through to next year, Carlos could well bring any Mclaren inside info to Ferrari, so it's a chance you have to take by making it possible for both drivers to have equal equipment if there's to be any hope of a WCC this year. Understandable to a point, for sure, but is it practicable?
it would be weak for him not to play ball. If he wants to be in another team for next year, that is. What message would it send to potential employers , to see a Seb behaving like that?
On the other hand, if he decided to retire, well, I am pretty sure there could be clauses in his contract if he acts like that, to be sent off his way, and get someone in his place till the end of year.

I'm not making any point, just stating what actually goes on behind the scene. When an Engineer announces that he/she is leaving his/her current team for another, he/she has to go through gardening leave. When a driver departs, he get's faze out of development and receives no info about future updates on the car. The goal is to restrict the spread of specialist information, often technical, when employees switch between teams. That's why Vettel will no be receiving any updates this year.
Dont believe a thing.
I understand the gardening leave scenario, tifosi, and fully appreciate the delicate nature of the specialist information which a driver may learn and pass on, so my point is that the team will have to make a choice if it transpires that Seb is competitive and finds himself in the unlikely situation that he is fighting for the championship! He won't take being denied any upgrades very well, and the team can't afford not to have both drivers scoring good points. Maybe you have extra inside info or are connected to someone who does, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now!
First of all, let's talk about winning the WDC/WCC when the racing resumes. Right now, it's a pretty pointless discussion.
Secondly, it doesn't matter one bit about Vettel and whether he likes it or not playing second fiddle to Leclerc. He's not in the position to demand anything. IF he wants to become a nuisance and only here to cause trouble, then he's got another thing coming for him.
And no, I don't see Vettel fighting for the championship. He couldn't do with when he had Kimi. So how can you expect Vettel to be fighting for the WDC when he has Charles as his teammate, someone who's faster and got the better of Vettel last year. And this year, Leclerc has the fully backing of Ferrari. He's Ferrari defacto number 1 and rightfully earned it.
And Ferrari can very well afford to not have both drivers scoring good points. If Ferrari really cared that much about winning the WCC, they wouldn't have kept Raikkonen for 5 years. They would've replaced him with someone like Ricciardo way earlier.
If Dan was in Kimi's Ferrari car for those 5 yrs. it would have been worse. It's the car 85% that gets the points for the team. Look over at Lewis. The races will be great if they ever start! Ferrari; R Bull Honda; and Merc will be fighting big time and each team has a driver who can bring the best car home.
Oh well, I'll just have to accept that we are not quite on the same page on some subjects, you have very strong opinions and so do I, but maybe I like to keep more of an open mind! No offence intended, and I hope Charles is given the equipment to deliver on his promise for all our sakes!

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has called recent Ferrari driver decisions "unusual" and explained why Mercedes would have acted differently. Wolff will wait until after a few races until the driver decisions for 2021 are made.
Toto Wolff: "Of course Sebastian is a great personality and with four championship titles he is also one of the outstanding drivers of his generation. He is an outsider candidate for a cockpit at Mercedes."
Toto Wolff : "First we want the season to start and let both drivers race freely. We want to see how George (Russell) presents himself. We want to make this decision in the course of the summer."
Toto Wolff: "But first and foremost we are looking at our own Mercedes squad. But from talent and personality, I would never say no to Sebastian straightaway."
Toto Wolff about the Ferrari driver announcement: "Everything was quite unusual. The five-year extension with Charles is relatively long. That's not really usual, even if you count him among the exceptional drivers."
Toto Wolff saw the separation between Vettel/Ferrari coming: "Somehow we felt that the atmosphere between Sebastian and the team was not so good. But announcing the new driver pairing before the season, just like McLaren, is something we wouldn't do."
It's not how start but how you finish.
