I’m very surprised Binotto said that this early. Not even one race, it will do wonders for Leclerc’s confidence.

EYE ROLL
This is what so many people said we needed last year. This is the right decision. Charles is learning, they don’t want to get Sebastian off side and/or doubting his position in the team. Charles is what? 19? He has a long contract with Ferrari already and he will have many years to be successful.
Even if Ferrari plans to give Seb preference but saying that loud publicly on the car launch will surely help a 19 year old, if driving for Ferrari is not a pressure cooker situation already
I don’t mind backing one driver for Championship, that is how Ferrari is known to operate but at least wait for 2-3 races to see if kid has the speed to spear head this team. And specially after we’ve seen Vettel’s last two seasons
Amen to that. What Hamilton enjoys for years and sth that Ferrari never gave to vettel. Cry me a river for those who don’t agree with that decision....Kimi never defended vettel on race starts...never staled his rivals during the race to give him time....in many occasions blocked him in race starts or complained when he had to pull over for vettel to overtake...and many times he pulled over after some laps not immediately. Hamilton has never faced similar events. He always had clear mind and ultra confidence of number 1.
I can see the above statement in two ways :
1) giving vettel the right back up, where he needs to deliver this time & prove himself.
2) easing the pressure off from Charles (as he can be the dark horse, it can do a lot of positive to the team interns of WCC or WDC).
Either of them, ferrari is thinking about championship. That’s good.
McLaren thought Alonso would get priority over Hamilton as well.....things don't always go as you expect
Forza Ferrari
Amen! probably best news regarding new season so far, but i doubt that it means much, probably media talk to get pressure of leclerc and let him get even better and more mature without idiots hounding about pressure every interview like they'v done with seb. Also doubt it will hinder Leclerc speed in anyway but i do hope we choose a no.1 and no.2 earliest as possible and support them like how butler does for ham.

Coca-Cola & Mclaren deal falls short for 2019 after 3 GP's in 2018. Coca-Cola does'nt want to associate itself with BAT after learning BAT is sponsoring Mclaren.
It's not how start but how you finish.
This is Seb's most crucial season in maybe his entire career imo.
Seb is doubting his position on the team starting second half of last season and at the end he's in complete doubt. All on him. Charles already has the learning and experience; and won "The Seat!' He's now 21 yrs. old just like Max. Ferrari should let Charles' success start from the first race on. An early pole , win, will for sure erase any doubt where he stands with the team for the many years he has to go. He for sure does not deserve to know he's #2 no matter what.
Seb's confidence took a knock so it is good from Ferrari to take some pressure off him and show some support. He is, until proven otherwise, our best shot at the WDC.

Binotto just calling a spade a spade and telling it like it is. Le bon Charles may be the new team youngster but he's a big boy now with large illustrious shoes to fill and a legendary car to drive. Expectant bosses, we tifosi and many teamates will be hoping and working for the success which is achievable. He can do it and we will be his biggest fans when he does! FORZA FERRARI!!!
There s more to kimi going to alfa romeo... i think we are essentially trying to be a four car team... if alfa can somehow with support of ferrarri can reach mid team level... they can play a significant role in supporting ferrarri in defending and stalling other potential contenders...the way Ocon and perez just always moved over for mercedez cars..
FOUR WEEKS!
Trying to be less angry..
I hope the confidence part isn't Ferrari being confident Charles will do as Rubens did, move over on command. Besides a rookie, what other top driver wanted the chance to be #2 to Seb after last year? Dan for sure didn't want a replay being demoted to a #2 spot. Who knows after a few laps Seb will be behind Charles and Ferrari will have to let him go for it! Then again a big pay check is for sure a way of supporting a driver.

Charles Leclerc is young and will need time to gain experience and develop. As for Seb, he is a 4 time world champion and obviously he will be our main contender and priority if we want to end Mercs' streak of double championships.
Having a No. 1 driver is not new in this sport. Besides, that is what the Mercs are doing and we should not be ashamed if we do it as well. Lewis caught Seb much quicker in terms of points last year because they had a clear No. 1 driver and a willing wingman, while Seb had to contend with Kimi in some races (remember the German GP?). Obviously, that setup didn't work. Now we have made changes in the team and we need to overhaul our philosophy as well, perhaps this is the key.
If you read the whole article, paying attention to the quotes from Mattia, it is pretty obvious, nothing is set in stone. His remarks are based on what is expected - if different, he'll adjust.
I like his style already - he doesn't mince words!
Forza Ferrari !

Saying he'll adjust is the key to team orders working! He sounds super legit! Over at Merc Bottas in the #2 spot was for sure the right combo. Kimi moved over to #1 second half would have been the way to go. Too late. R bull switching Max #1 over Dan did wonders for them. As you quoted, nothing should be set in stone.
