what is the expected gain of seconds pr lap from medium to hypersoft ?
It was clear that RB has a great chassis that can compete with both us and Merc. Now, it's all down to Renault if they managed to make a big step regarding their PU. If that's the case then RB is a massive threat indeed.
Trust me, no one hopes not more than me... it’s just a feeling. I had a good feeling last season, so much so that I made some good money on bets I put on very early in the preseason. This year though... I just have a bad feeling. Will HAPPILY be proven wrong... here’s hoping.

-->Last year Mercedes suposed has more fuel load at BCN test, and when begin the races, first five races, Vettel is leader... and 1:19:149 Hamilton VS 1:19:200 Vettel .....the difference of pole position at BCN .......... the experts talk in the test that Mercedes has more than 1 second........ or near......... but finally with the new engine of Mercedes and the new aeropack....... only 0,050 ......and in the race...... not much more.
I remember a safety car with the incorrect strategy make the difference.
I still confidence with Ferrari........ if Red Bull is more near or not, is difficult to know ........ fuel load , and the program are using in the engine.... its impossible to know

Guys, its first day. Let's wait and see... first one watches, then we make some assessments and only inthe end we can make some (unfounded) judgements. We must trust the team... no one wants to win more than they. Have faith...
No cars on track yet. Spots of rain reported. Cloudy, temperature dropped a bit. 10C air, 18C track.
Interesting idea. Driver # on the halo on the C37

Agree with everything! Just getting my emotions get the better of me. It’s ridiculous to try and glean anything from the first morning of the first day of testing. I was just disappointed to see softs make an appearance so early. Especially when Redbull are doing 30 lap long runs on mediums and posting the fastest time. BUT it is just testing and ultimately we don’t know anything about what’s happening.

LAP TIMES OF RAIKKONEN
Kimi Raikkonen has completed a short stint of five timed laps on the soft compound. His lap times were: 1:26.9, 1:26.1, 1:23.1, 1:21.6 and 1:21.2.

Drive it like you stole it!
The Ferrari is again looking honest and true this year. Raikkonen is able to turn in confidently at Turn 1 and not have some of the problems others are having. Might suggest the car again works it’s tyres sensibly and consistently once up to temperature.

more rain on the track.....this could be it for day 1.
00:54 You’d have to say for the confidence the drivers have the Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren are standing out. It’s now flowing for the Mercedes so much, but it's still early days.

My observations from the car launch so far:
1) RB are back, added to that if Renault provides them good HP then it gonna be end of merc dominance.
2) mercs there’s not much innovation on their car, its just like extended package from last year. All their hopes are on engine which has good reliability & max HP
3) Ferrari, I call it a gr8 race car last year (not a grt season) definitely a championship winning car. For this year car looks clean rear end. 3 major problems for Ferrari last year reliability, engine power, high speed corners performance. By the initial looks Ferrari found the solutions for power, rear end stability which will give outmost power exit of the corner.
For me it’s gonna be tough fight between RB & Ferrari this year. It all comes to drivers excellences how he attacks, defend their positions. This is where RB has advantage.
raining on the track...current times and laps.

Hopefully we can get complete whatever testing we want to do.
Should have tested in Abu Dhabi, no worry about rain or snow (I think)
Alonso alone on the track....he needs the laps
