mercs are the most reliable PU at the moment so not sure whatever bug emerged, but hopefully we can capitalise on it and not let them get there major update without doing damage to them first at canada

I can't understand sending Kimi out with a bad engine; using an actual race to evaluate what's up with the engine? Kimi has to feel real good knowing at least his team mate has a new engine and could possibly win the race. At least we Ferrari fans will be watching the race knowing Kimi is doing the team right, and Seb may do a win with the up dated engine. I was hoping for Kimi on pole this race! Maybe the right tires will get him a podium!
Formthis track, nothing as they have delayed their engine due to a 'quality issue'. Their 1st engine will be on its last legs and on a power track aswell.

So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

so Haas and Sauber already ran with the new engine upgrades at monaco, were really bad at monaco but that's not an engine track, ferrari decided its safe enough to use on seb's car at canada
https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...te-verschoben/The customer teams HaasF1 and Sauber had already driven the upgrade to the race weekend of Monaco. Problems were not visible. That's why at least Sebastian Vettel can now enjoy the power upgrade. Teammate Kimi Raikkonen already had to involuntarily install a second drive unit in Barcelona. At the Iceman is therefore still unclear how Ferrari will adapt the engine program.
regarding mercedes it could be good for them as they might be optimizing the power and reliability even more so as there are only 3 planned engines
. But it is also possible that the engineers have requested a few days development time. With only three engines allowed for the entire season, performance updates can not be interspersed that often. If a new engine comes, so it should be worthwhile PS-wise synonymous. The measure could benefit Mercedes at the end of the season.

Apparently Mercs engine performance and modes will not be hindered at Canada as they have been planning to use the engine for 7 races anyway.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/formula1/44392859A spokesman said the engine to be raced in Montreal was not being asked to do more miles than intended - it had originally been scheduled to be used again at the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of July.
The spokesman added that the decision would not impact the amount of time the drivers could use an engine's various power modes over the weekend.

Updated Bargeboards for Montreal.
based on the circuit this race should be 50/50 between Ferrari and Merc fair to say?
Ferrari not running a T-wing for the Canadian GP.

We need to step it up now really attack and go for it out develope and out engineer merc are playing cat and mouse with there upgraded pu they will sit back see what we have and then pounce we need to be 2 steps ahead it might be a little risky but you have to mercedes wont be sitting still complacency is a killer in any industry.
We need to make sure that we cover all bases in terms of every detail make sure we go to the "last one inch" marginal gains in each area of the car. Hopefully we can improve to Bahrain/Baku Performance with peerless reliability. I'm sure if we can nail the setup in both cars and with the tyre data we have collected and it seems our car is very aerodynamic efficient comparing in Bahrain, China Baku. We can combine that with improved updates to the cars specifically for this track we should be still ahead if you look at gap in Baku, China, Bahrain we were -0.2-0.4 ahead.
Our car is amazing this year we just all need to be optimistic and maximise everything to put pressure on the others. That means being smart in all areas.

Vettel: If it's like Monaco in terms of (hypersoft) tyre degradation then we'll just have more stops. We'll see how the other compounds work. We know that in this track you can overtake but it is also sensitive on tyres. So, it's not easy to find the best strategy.

Biggest weakness at the moment is Tyre deg, RB say they got a good chance of winning here because of the hypersofts, they can go deep in the race on them with fast times, mercs brought more US so they can probably start on them, ferrari need to optimize the hypersofts if we going to stand a chance of winning, there's bound to be SC / VSC with the wall of champions
