I searched for all the photos but could not see any mercs update except for a flap on the front suspension. I dont think thats worth 1 sec?

Protest against Ferrari in Monaco? [Teams believe Ferrari are cheating with there battery and want clarity on the matter by Monaco] per Amus
From Mark Hughes at Motorsport,
Quote
But there was conspiracy in the other direction too.
The Mercs had captured the front row – so this theory went – because this was the first race since the FIA had discovered that Ferrari had been deploying more than the permitted 4kj of stored energy per lap in the four previous events. Now that the extra output on the battery had been discovered, along with the extra ECU within the battery’s casing, so Ferrari had been trimmed back to normal power – and consequently was a tenth or so behind Mercedes rather than a couple of tenths ahead. In exchange, the conspiracists explained, Ferrari had changed its mind about not voting in favour of the FIA’s proposed 2019 aero reg changes. Ok, this was based on slightly more solid information – the FIA had actually looked at Ferrari’s energy store in Baku and requested an explanation for how it worked, and Ferrari had switched its position on the 2019 regs. But.
1) Yes, but so had Mercedes. If there was a quid-pro-quo, it was a trade-off in the proposed 2021 engine regs for something that both Ferrari and Mercedes wanted.
2) GPS analysis by Mercedes suggested that there was next to zero offset between the two engines around Barcelona and that the difference in qualifying lap time was wholly accounted for by lower apex speeds for Ferrari at Turns 4, 7 and 9.
Even Mercedes was saying the anti-Ferrari story was nonsense.
So we are illegal?
This does'nt make sense IF I'm reading it right. IF we were putting more power down on the rear wheels in the previous races, why did our tyres (rears) last longer (softs)???? Then in Spain, with the mediums (40 laps Pirelli recommendation) we could'nt go 40 laps???? (0.4 mm difference is the reason).
Agree the big problem was the tyres, not the engine.Engine wise we are on pair with the Mercedes. You know what I found funny when I was watching Seb with a onboard camera? The car was very stable, agile (in all sort of corners), but the high-tyre deg prevented Ferrari from matching Mercedes, and in that case your car is sliding all around the track, and you will fell down on pace. I am sure if everything was ok tyre wise like in Baku we could have taken at least the fight to the Mercedes also in the race. Interesting time ahead, hope for the best of course.
Anyone has photos for me of today’s test session in season at Barcelona?

not really much out there. In the beginning, all had aero grids attached to the cars. Then they just did laps really
Here are the results of day 1 testing.

More allegations!!
Cheating in F1???? I'm shocked!!!!!
If you're not finding the loopholes then you are'nt tryin. If you do, good for you or us for that matter. It becomes cheating if the rule exits. Exploiting a loophole only to have the FIA close it in the rules is the business we are in....that's been F1's history.
Problem is, loopholes should be exploited to find additional performance from the engine or car. When the loopholes become the basis for your performance, and those loopholes are closed on you mid-season, you have no performance. Ferrari should have learned this lesson last year w/ oil burn.
You should seek to build a strong car and engine first that can perform w/o needing loopholes to exploit...then you find loopholes to exploit....like Merc.
"If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari" - Gilles Villeneuve
Mercedes do not push the rules and there interpretation of them really what a load of crap of course they do they all do its about the competitive edge innovation ferrari have plenty cry babies in f1 a lot more may be the fia should examine all the cars and then they can stop bullying ferrari those fia numbsculls .
Two GP distances, best time on old-type Softs
Montmelò, 15 May –136 laps, over two Grands Prix lengths: that’s the distance racked up by Scuderia Ferrari on the first of two days of this in-season test, with Sebastian Vettel at the wheel. Various developments were tried out on the SF71H, “but not aimed at Monaco” clarified the driver, “because that race is too much of a one-off. Let’s say we got some ideas and now we have to turn them into reality.” Seb’s best time of 1’17”659 was set in the afternoon on Soft compound tyres, of the type used at the start of the season and not in last weekend’s GP. “We learned various things on how to work on track like this one . We know we have a strong car,” concluded the driver before leaving the circuit. Tomorrow, Antonio Giovinazzi takes over at the wheel of the SF71H
CAVALLINO RAMPANTE PER SEMPRE
Reports today is that Charlie Whiting and the FIA have checked and studied the Energy Store of Scuderia Ferrari and will issue a directive before the Monaco Grand Prix.

It's getting painfully obvious why Ferrari need to leave Formula 1 after the 2020 season. If you think it's bad now, when the team has clawed back all that Merc was ahead in the V6 turbo era, then just wait what Liberty and the FIA will put in the 2021 "concorde agreement".
Ferrari doesn't have any friends in high places left. Bernie is gone and Todt ha turned into Napoleon. It's over. You can't fight everyone both on track and in the halls. No one has those resources.
What a shocker...not.

Vettel names three problems for Ferrari to solve
“We were not quick enough,” said Vettel, who trails Hamilton by 17 points in the championship.
“So, if we are not able to see that then we are more than blind, because we didn’t have the pace in the first stint.
“Second, I think we struggled a little bit over the course of the weekend with the tyres.
“They changed, but they changed for everyone, so our ambition has to be that we’re better off, rather than worse off, than everybody.
“Third, I think it was a poor weekend in terms of reliability. Kimi had an issue with the engine [change after Friday] and obviously retired in the race.
“If we don’t see those [three things] then there are no excuses.”

Doesn't surprise me the least bit anymore. MercFia doing anything it can to keep us back. How could anyone possibly know how our battery/recovery system works? Especially in qualification? Funny, when Merc have a party mode they are the most brilliant F1 team ever. Ferrari create there own and it will be banned. The bias is unbelievable.
~FORZA FERRARI~
Seb did fastest lap in Q on S and he didn't use SS in race at all.
