almost 30lap tyre ham put fastest lap 1.5s faster than vet at the end when we were supposed to have tyre advantage

OMG are you really that blind ? They could always pit ONE LAP after the VSC, not right after it; or even one lap before the VSC ends on that matter. It was that easy but we blew it.

HAM won thanks to BOT..
Don't think we made a mistake with strategy, we covered off an undercut which gave Merc to possibility to go longer..

Only thing you can say is that it is rubbish that the softest tyre of a weekend can do almost 50% of the race. doesn't make any sense..

i agree, bottas did a good job delaying seb for 3 laps which cost seb time.

How many races lost due to SC now?? And mind you this one was more on the strategy because they would have probably done better had they pit under VSC and they had the opportunity.

Doesn't matter as Ham is on the softer compound. He will still catch Seb on medium with 30 or so laps after VSC.

VET lost 6 sec. during VSC and 3 sec. more behind BOT and thats all game over!
If race start is good then race strategy would be horrible - we just cant combine them both once forever!

Mercedes' gamble on the Mediums for Ham's 2nd stint when Seb pitted early was the key. Even if we pitted Seb during VSC wouldn't have mattered..

This forum will be relatively unbearable for a week now. Second by 4 seconds, it must be the end of the world. The team really screwed us over with that strategy, the Mercedes engine is 1000hp more powerful than ours, Kimi should retire... what else?

We lost because Bottas has driven this race just for Lewis.. He was defending like mad and loosing a lot of time for himself just to keep Vettel up..
After his win in Russia I thought he was right up there, he was nowhere here.. 30s after 27 laps..He just made himself a number 2 driver after his drive today, no champion

They have no idea when VSC is going to end. You understand what i said? If VSC came out as Seb on straight Lewis could jump straight in and pit, Seb would need do a lap, and VSC could come in by time he gets around. Seb pits, VSC ends and Lewis as at full speed, its just one of those things you can not predict. A gamble which 50/50. A full SC would of hurt us alot more.

Still a long season ahead in the championship, and we are still in the WDC lead, so I don't think today's result is that disappointing.
On to the next race

These tyres are way to hard lol...

It's not unusual for softer tires to last longer at the end of the race, as the track have been rubbered in, and the cars are lighter too.
This is why sometimes team will take the harder tire in the middle stint, and switch back to softer one at the end to attack.

But as we saw today, its still very close, so such strategy isn't always a sure fire way to win.
