I see Vettel there in 2017.
Ferrari sucks and he's German.

Ferrari sucks and he's German.
I also see vettel in that seat. Sadly..
He is German, 4x WDC and meet the mercedes requirements.
I wonder what is our plan B (i guess ferrari could have seen this coming)
Vettel to Merc and a begrudged Hamilton to Ferrari.
Very far fetched but not impossible.
"If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari" - Gilles Villeneuve
My bet.
1. Perez - best of the rest.
2. Hülkenberg - german.
3. Bottas - seems like a fit.
Alonso will do everything to break his contact. He might have a performance clause maybe, who knows
Red is the only color!!!
He's achieved his personal goal, while those after his seat still have their own goal to achieve, that is the difference.
Nico's goal was to be a world champion, not to be one as many times as possible. For him, being a champion once is enough for a lifetime.
I can see why someone would stop after being a champion. It's not easy doing what these drivers do. For Nico's case, this means leaving his family behind, and not being there while his daughter is growing up. Now that he's achieved his life goal, might as well move on to other things in life.
spot on mate. This would explain why:

I am not taking the past. I have not said that! What I said is that one can not live in the past and rely only on the past. It is logical, I hope so, that after this dry period of 8 years, there will be reason to celebrate.
One more thing it is not like you have said:" Ferrari may be struggling right now...", right now is for 8 years...
he just couldn't stand another season with Lewser
If Hamilton continues with Mercedes - why wouldn't he - all they need is a decent #2 who doesn't rock the boat.
Well I dont hate ALonso but isnt he stuck in his contract at Mclaren anyway and we should worry about losing VET to Merc.
Maybe Button has the last laugh on this one and comes back to Merc... LOL
or maybe they sack Lewis too for his "disobedience" and start fresh with two new drivers
, really never expected that, even if next years Mercedes is a dog of a car, why walk out on £36 million in two years? Something very fishy going on, or he is just, i don't know words actually fail me on what to think why he would do it at 31 Years old!!!!!!!!!!!
Next years regs have changed so will Mercedes be the car to be in, the top contenders are Alonso and dare i say Vettel that Mercedes will be targeting. Which one is available? Could just get a newbie to satisfy Rosberg's big head team mate
Bottas is probably the most likely one. He's experienced and still 27, knows how to talk to the engineers to develop a car, doesn't rock the boat so to speak, rarely makes mistakes on the track, Williams needs money (maybe as part of releasing Bottas they could get engines cheaper or updates faster), plus the Wolff connection. Only downside is his marketing value
