It's not that, we didn't really need a monkey seat for the first 4 races.

All other teams where using and we also last year!!And i thing that from testing it was told that we where producing so much downforce in the rear and it was difficult to put and a monkey seat!!!And we are putting it now that we have new wings!!

yeah, now that we have a "monkey" we need a monkey seat.....LOL....could not help myself

let's hope we can give Merc a run for their money this weekend
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Remember last year where Ferrari brought along massive updates, such as heavily refined sidepods and increased undercut taper at the rear. It was going to be the bomb, especially as Ferrari was really pushing Mercedes hard at the previous races. Then came qualifying :( and then came the race :(

Maybe, this weekend will be the opposite to last year's and be the beginning of some good, solid races for the Reds.

Barcelona will be though for us I think, ofcourse I'm optimistic, it's just that last years Merc has been really really strong here, so the gap to close here is higher. But like we saw last year, if you can get ahead at the start, anything is possible. HAM was stuck behind us for some stints and ROS pulled a massive gap at the front

The 2016 monkey seat looks like it's higher downforce than 2015. There must be more front end grip this year.

What I see is that the bottom element was almost flat in Russia, now it's more curved up in the middle part.
Don't know if it's 'new' or just different downforce configurations...

Leading edge of both the main plane and the flap have a little bit different shape. I would like to see the end plates as there shlould also be some changes.

The development team needs to improve the overall looks of the car. The front end is pretty disgusting, particularly the nose which looks awful. Pity that Ferrari makes such gorgeous road cars but a very ugly F1 racer. No wonder we can't win a race or a pole.

Ferrari did bring a slight modification to the sidepods with smaller inlets. The left is from China, the right from Friday practice:

That's not a slight modification - that's a major reconstruction and not just for the radiator inlets, but also for the top deck next to the cockpit. Notice how the vented louvres have disappeared, whilst the deck has been cleaned up, flattened and streamlined :) Who knows, maybe their positiveness for this weekend is validated and not just for the increased track temperatures!

    1. Lower circle: That 3 headed dildo in the nose has to go....

    2. Higher circle: The curves in the slope just don't look right...

The rest of the car is OK looking.

What Stormy meant was given the dry spell wrt championship and winning races, having a winning car is more important that designing a beautiful car.

Will Merc try and do Q2 on M, therefore use M in the race and decide in the race if they do a last short stint on S or a longer stint on H?

For us: track position is everything: if we get ahead of them we need to be agressive, but if we aren't ahead of them perhaps try a stop less and use the hards?

When it wins, it will be beautiful. Simple as that.

Spot on. Efficiency over aesthetics any time.
