Jenson Button and wife Jessica gassed in robbery

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnew...belongings.html

Jenson Button was gassed by burglars before having £300,000 worth of belongings stolen from his house in the south of France.

According to The Sun, criminals pumped anaesthetic gas into air conditioning vents and then broke into the F1 star's holiday villa while he and his wife Jessica were out cold.

The burglars took Jessica Michibata's £250,000 engagement ring as well as a number of other possessions that totalled over £300,000.

Wow! Of all the drivers on the field they do this to Jenson? Easily the nicest guy on the grid. I hope these robbers are caught for such a horrible robbery! Too much anesthesia can kill someone!

What the hell kind of air conditioning system does this house have? Most residential systems don't have an outside air intake making it impossible to "gas" someone from the outside. This means the thieves were inside the building already.

    That's crazy!

Wow, I imagine it'll be a long while (and a whole lot of additional security measures taken) before they feel safe in their own home again. That's a pretty sad fact!
Maybe it's time for a canary, they say coal miners used to use them to warn of poisonous gasses well before the levels were dangerous to humans.

I find this anaesthetic gas part of this story highly doubtful.

Who the hell needs a $400K engagement ring? Never liked the guy and this confirms it. (NB: I am saddened that he was burglarized)

I can bet it was not Jenson wearing the ring, so no need to dislike him for that

"Diamonds are forever! " That $$ is, rather was, well invested. Belonging to a celeb. makes a diamond worth even more. He more than likley had it insured big time. I'm sure any one of Lewis' chains would sell for big $$$ because they were his. Even if there actually chocolate inside.

Why? They've had numerous cases of it happening around there.

People live to their means. If I spent £200 on a ring and it's a fifth of everything in my bank account then Jenson spending £200k is only 1/250th of what he has.

I reckon if I had tens of millions of pounds, I'd probably buy an expensive ring for my partner too, as well as a more expensive car, house and so on... :)

On the contrary, a local prosecutor has said they've had no such cases and the Royal College of Anaesthetists have said it's very doubtful that it could be used this way. This headline is probably somewhat more dramatic than it actually was.

My wife works in a operating Theater and she also finds this story very strange, no doubt something happened but not using anaesthetic. Anyway good luck to JB and his good lady who I see as a lovely couple.

Yes, pretty much myth that this could be done the way it is supposedly being done. I would guess that if they were indeed drugged, it was through something they ate or more likely drank.

My initial reaction was very sceptical... How much anaesthetic would you need to fill the house with a sufficient amount to anesthetise the occupants, how could they ensure that they wouldn't seriously injure or kill the occupants (assuming the burglars don't want to be guilty of murder) if it was that easy to anesthetise people why do hospitals employ anaesthetic teams...?

Subsequently I was chatting to a friend of mine who's a vet, now I appreciate he's not a specialist on anaesthesia, but he's no idiot, and he said that to knock out a couple of people in a fully air conditioned villa with nitrous oxide (which is very cheap and available) is not beyond the realms of possibility, especially if it's just for half hour, it's when you anaesthetise someone for a few hrs like in a surgical procedure that you require an anaesthetic team...

    I don't know now...

The FSB used Fentanyl gas to incopasitate the occupants of the theater in Russian prior to raiding it and killing all the Hadjis.

Problem is, a ton of people dies because you can't monitor the dosage.

I can see this happening but it's sketchy at best.
