    2015 Pre-Season Test - Jerez

Question: Are mechanics allowed to touch the car with red light on roll hoop? I thought they are not with ERS charged.

Yes cause it looks to me like they are wearing thick rubber gloves that protect them from at least 1000Volts.

    2015 Pre-Season Test - Jerez

Ricciardo crawled back to the pits. Sounded rough. Some smoke and flames coming from the car.

Quite a lot of small details on the McLaren's front wing. Most complex front wing we've seen this year?

Wonder what's going on with Williams though, still no show.

It looks like Daniel Ricciardo has blown up his engine. Driving in corner 3, a lot of smoke shows up behind the RB11. He has returned to the pitlane, but there are definitely problems with the new painted car.

I'm wondering the same, maybe their nose is heavier due to more material used to pass the crash test? or they've found a clever way to weave the carbonfibre, the latter is probably the reason they can keep their nose at minimum length and still pass crash test. However I should imagine that the gains of having a short nose is only marginal.

BEN ANDERSON on what McLaren is up to:

"The car is back in the garage and the screens are up following another single-lap run. This looks like the run plan McLaren racing director Eric Boullier wanted to get through in Abu Dhabi.

"If things go well expect some three lap runs from the McLaren later."

"Just been chatting to Valtteri Bottas on the pitwall. Williams was delayed by some new car double checks yesterday. The team hopes to be out in around 15 mins".

That was about 10 mins ago.

This is actually the first RB livery that I like!

    DIEK, you crack me up

We've got the "horns" back again, bigger than ever, after being straight out on the reveal nose

We are the only engine manufacturer with two of the top four cars running our PU... for now
