Yup come Felipe lets do it...for you..for Fernando..for Ferrari...and all the Ferrari fans across the globe...
I bet the fans of Renault and McLaren said the same things in 2000-2004 when we were wining all the time, it's common seance the team that's in front will always generate rumors and controversy.
I believe the off throttle blowing isn't banned. it is just reduced to about 10% if I am correct.
It's banned:
The 2011 season saw teams running "off-throttle blown diffusers", which created downforce by forcing fuel through the engine to produce exhaust gasses and directing it over the diffuser when the driver was not applying the throttle. This concept was originally banned in incremental phases, with increasingly restrictive rules on what teams could and could not do, with a full ban to be applied from the 2011 British Grand Prix onwards. However, the incremental ban was controversial, with several teams applying for and receiving permission to circumvent the total ban. After discussion between the FIA and engine manufacturers, the original regulations were restored, with the full ban delayed until 2012. The regulations in 2012 will govern the design of the exhaust with the teams agreeing to strict constraints on the position of the exhaust tailpipe. This will result in the exhaust exiting the bodywork much higher up than in 2011, and no longer in the vicinity of the diffuser. In October 2011, a clarification to the amended rules was issued, effectively banning "exotic" engine maps; in November, further amendments were introduced, completely banning the practice of blowing exhaust gasses over parts of the car to improve downforce, following a bid by several teams to allow it under certain conditions.

i was shocked
why is massa still in the pit?
"I cannot judge what he did in his time at Renault and McLaren but I have worked with World Champions Schumacher, Villeneuve and Raikkonen and Fernando is the one who impresses me the most," said Gene.
I believe the 10% rule is a means of enforcing a total ban, because the engine still have to run even when a driver is off throttle and they are now allowed to run at 10% throttle only. Previously, the engines were set to artificially run at a higher throttle when the driver is off the peddle. This is what's being banned, and to ensure that teams to not in any sneaky way throttle the engine beyond what it should be during idle state, the FIA introduce the 10% limit which is where the engine should be at when its idle.
Ferrari still in the pits...maybe they're installing some new parts and that takes time....
I thought that 10% rule was because Renault said that otherwise the engine wouldn't be cooled good enough and they would have reliabilitty issues. So its pure for reliabilitty that the 10% rule is allowed. something with cool gas/air cooling the engine valves or something.
2 hrs left of the session...so i think that Ferrari will again cover laps between 70-80...
From my understanding, that was the limit the FIA finally set by the end of last year (unless they change again which I'm not aware of).Of course I don't know exactly how they came to that 10% figure. The FIA did consult the teams first before finalizing the ban though.
He' s out...
So i just logged on and saw this stuff about exhaust blowing still happening. I read on some other forums about how Ferrari are the bad guy for calling it out.. I think its funny to read.. Ferrari was the team that last year allowed in mid-season to keep the peace and then it gets abused.
What is the current position of this controversy?
we're number one
Felipe is back on track...
the position is simple really...It's all Ferrari's fault!!...lol
We'll see what happens over the next couple of days I guess but I'm almost certain Luca Di will not take this lying down this time....should the FIA decide to allow it..
