Thumbs up European GP Qualifying Thread

Any predictions for Qualy? I think Alonso could take pole today and it would be nice especially because he`s driving in front of his home crowd

I think we’ll do very well, but i am concerned about our pace on soft tyres. Performance of our drivers in Q3 will be key to the race

Hopefully both our cars in the top 4 - but the times were so close this morning with very little separating the top 10 so it could go to anyone.

I'm not dreaming for a pole. It will be a close fight for Q3 even. I didn't say that- the team did:

Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa finished fifth (1.38.513) and eighth (1.38.686) respectively, as they carried on with the work begun yesterday, with an in-depth analysis of the updates brought here, as well as comparing the two types of tyre compound: both Ferrari men did two runs, the first on the hard and the second on the soft, which unfortunately in Felipe’s case only produced a slight improvement and none at all for Fernando. Considering the progress made by other teams, it looks like being a very closely contested fight to get through to Q3.

bbc report alonso is more comfortable on the hard over a lap. this really sucks for qualifying ffs. ferari cant get the soft to work we struggle in qualifying and then be stuck in the race.

Well the hard tyre will probably be better for the race anyway.

    from espnf1:

Ferrari is expecting a close session: "The two F10s are ready for a qualifying session which should be very interesting. There are at least 12 drivers who can pretend to qualify for Q3"

doesnt help when you start behind a bunch of slower cars on softs. you cant overtake.
