It's Official!

The Ferrari 430 Scuderia. Michael Schumacher will officially unveil the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new Ferrari 430 Scuderia will join the road-going V8 line-up alongside the F430 coupé and the F430 Spider. The 430 Scuderia is a truly high-performance 2-seater berlinetta which demonstrates how Ferrari’s Formula 1 know-how is carried across to its production cars.

The new model is a special series based on the F430 and is aimed specifically at Ferrari’s most passionate and sports-driving oriented clients. Development focused on light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology. All this to exalt the car’s extremely high-performance and ability to thrill the driver.

The new car can count on an extremely low weight-to-power ratio of just 2.45 kg per hp thanks to a low dry weight of just 1250 kg - 100 kg less than the standard F430 – and to the naturally-aspirated 4308cc V8’s 510 hp at 8500 rpm.

Superb performance both on and off the track is assured by a series of cutting-edge solutions. There is the latest F1 software - Superfast – which reduces gearchange times to just 60 milliseconds, and new traction control which, for the first time, combines the E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system.

Vehicle dynamics, control and performance thus represent the zenith of Ferrari’s achievements in terms of developing road-certified sports cars.

The 430 Scuderia will be officially unveiled by Michael Schumacher on September 11 2007 at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt.

Nice review. Pretty much sums up what we were all thinking about this car! Its a shame there was background music in the video, it kinda ruined the incredible Engine soundtrack.

What are they really like to own? Modern Ferrari's in general.

Are you forever conscious that it's been stood still for too long? Or that you're always planning a drive around its next service? Do things forever play on your mind? Or is it a peaceful relationship? Are they more robust than I think?

Perhaps it's because they're so out of my league that I almost hate to see them being driven sometimes. It's like meeting some red hot girl, then finding out she's slept with the whole cricket team. I'm still recieving therapy by the way. It's going ok. Bitch :-D

It's been in and out of Ferrari GB HQ in Slough, I stalked it for a while and tried to get them to rev her up a bit, but they didn't want to play. Am trying to find out what she is doing here and can we see her going round a track in anger anywhere. If I get a reply will let you know.

For the americans here, she is at the LA auto show - what an amazing stand.

Indeed the blue one Ferrari GB were using had a crash, so they are now using a grey one. I'm going to see it this evening, so I'll report back. :xwink

Thanks, Red - something about a Ferrari in matt black that does it for me. There was a very similar one in the workshop at Ferrari UK over the last couple of weeks. Wasn't allowed to take pics - they get a bit like that with customer's cars - but had a good look inside. It was gutted of any extras, just the bare necessities for going fast! At one point I thought they would have me removed for stalking - you would have thought they would be used to me by now peering through the gates. :-D

I saw one on the M1 yesterday, stopped next to me in traffic. It had no stripes though. First I've seen with no stripes. It was more gorgeous than it's ever looked in a photo. And the sound, even on idle. Wow. Some doddery old giffer was driving it too. Appologies if the doddery old giffer reads this :-D

Gorgeous pics, Gemm. Question - in amongst your pics of the Scud, do you have one of the engine - in particular the silver Ferrari shield in the middle. Everytime I get near to one, she's either locked and the man with the key is nowhere to be found (silverstone), or she is about to do the hill (goodwood), or she is stuck in a corner with no one looking after her (motorshow).

You can see it here, but I wanted one where the shield stands out more.

The plates are from canton Vaud (VD), white and green flag. Lucerne flag is white and blue.

MS lives in Gland, canton Vaud, midway between Lausanne (VD) and Geneva (GE). Gland is a small town on the shores of the Leman lake, the one english speaking people wrongly call Geneva Lake.

The Swiss side of the Leman lake (the other side is France) is unbelievably beautiful. (That's why I live here ! :-D :-P ).

Unfortunately it is plagued with an incredible number of millionaires, billionaires and all sort of celebrities from all over the world (I'm not part of such crowd ;-)) including F1 people (Schumacher, Alesi, Prost, Jacky Stewart, etc.). This, inevitably, causes properties to reach ridiculous prices.

Except for this we don't give a d*** about them , they don't bother us, so everything is well.
