Stefano Domenicali may have urged Ferrari to remain cautious after the Valencia test, but Aldo Costa has spoken about the teams pleasure to find the performance on the track matched that of the wind tunnel and computer simulations.Much has been made about the 3 day test and nobody is any clearer as to who was really the fastest. However Ferrari believe the F10 is fast, but are just not sure how fast the other teams can go.
Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport Costa said, "The overview is very positive. We covered 1,400km across all fuel levels also tried the new tyres and started doing some set up and development work. All our wind tunnel and simulation numbers matched up with the ones from the track. We are fast, even if it’s too early to say how fast compared to the others. "

Ferrari remain in a cautious mood after topping the times at the recent Valencia test session in Spain. Team boss Stefano Domenicali has been speaking about the need to keep their feet on the ground and concentrated on the task at hand. The road to recovery from 2009 seems to have started well but there is no reason to be fully confident that Ferrari have turned around the gap they had from the end of last season to the front of the grid.
Domenicali was off course delighted with the reliability of the Ferrari F10, it was one key area he had singled out to make big improvements in, Ferrari have suffered greatly recently from poor early season reliability and it must be pleasing for Stefano to see the car on track running without any problems so far. However the lap times should not be looked at too closely says Stefano. Ferrari are keen not to jump to any hasty conclusions.

A red flag delayed his initial runs but Alonso was soon out lapping the track much to the crowds delight.
Alonso's debut for Ferrari has increased the interest in the test in Spain and around 35,000 spectators are expected at the circuit today, this was also evident as Alonso left and arrived in the pitlane with photographers keen to get very close to the car and driver.Ferrari's technical plan for today is similar to the previous days with work mainly ongoing to find a good base set up for the car, and to test the behaviour of the car with varying fuel loads, as well as working on the behaviour of the new Bridgestone tyres.

Day two for Ferrari at the Valencia circuit in Spain as they continued to analyse the F10 chassis and continue the work the team done on Monday. Once again for Ferrari it was Felipe Massa at the wheel, the Brazilian driver starting the day in a black helmet as he was testing a prototype helmet for for Schuberth, and he was quick right away setting a faster time than he had done on Monday. Ferrari had spent Monday working on a baseline setup for the F10 and analysing the performance of the new Bridgestone tyres and this work continued on Tuesday.
It was reported that Ferrari were running with the super soft and soft compounds today, which explains why Felipe was instantly quicker than he had been the day before. Felipe covered a total of 124 laps today which is great news for Ferrari as far as reliability goes, so much better than last season with the KERS problems. Massa's best time was 1.11.722 but as yet we have no idea what fuel loads the teams are running.

Felipe Massa was the fastest driver on the track on the first day of testing at the Cheste circuit, just outside Valencia. The Brazilian drove the fastest lap in the last minutes of the session, while he had been leading the time sheet with his lap times before. The 1.12.574 taken by Massa for his fastest lap today can’t be judged in absolute terms regarding the competitors, because this year, understanding the fuel loads in the cars, is more difficult than ever. Although it has to be said that this result is a good prelude for the F10 on the day of its debut.
"I’m happy about how it went today,” Felipe said at the end of the test session. “We worked very well and drove many kilometres without any problems.

In amongst all the the news surrounding the launch of the new Ferrari F10 there was another important announcement from Ferrari regarding their much talked about young driver programme. Ferrari has always tended to shy away from taking a gamble with young drivers in the race seat, something which has probably cost them signing some very good young talents. However Ferrari are now trying to address this issue with their young drivers academy.
Luca Baldisseri spoke about the aims of the project and what Ferrari are hoping to achieve. Currently Ferrari have 12 drivers selected with more to come, Ferrari are looking for talent at the grass roots of racing in karts as well as other series.
